Is there a limit on the number of post queries that WP ShowPosts can create? I have 10 WP ShowPosts queries and went to add another. The option to add a new ShowPost query/shortcode does not appear. What do I need to check?
Well, I answered my own question. WP ShowPosts seems to be limited to 10 ShowPost queries/shortcodes. I deleted a query and the “Add New” button is back. Unless I can increase the number of ShowPost items I’ll be asking for a refund. One of my specialties is creating association websites. Most of the associations that I work with are “staffed” by volunteers. It’s fairly easy to teach them how to create a WordPress post and select a category. This routes the post to their specialty page on the website. Many of these sites need more than 10 post queires.
This is the first post query plugin that I have tested that limits the number of queries/shortcodes. I like this plugin a lot but need more than 10 items.
This must have been a transient issue. After deleting the 10th query and adding a new one, the “Add New” button is back. I was able to add an 11th query and the Add New button is still there.
I usually have only one WP ShowPosts shortcode per page.
I did a forced reinstall of WP ShowPosts. This may have been what fixed it. I installed GeneratePress with the Pro addon, and WP ShowPosts on a migrated database from a client site that was built in 2012. There is likely a lot of leftover clutter from old plugins in the database.
