What is the best way to show only category specific posts in a sidebar widget? Is there a plugin you recommend or is this possible using GP?
I have WP Show Posts Pro installed and have created a post list that shows the 5 most recent posts belonging to a category called All Animals. I put the WPSP short code in a sidebar widget and the widget displays the posts on all categories. However, I only want the post list to display when viewing posts in the All Animals category. How can this be accomplished? Do I use the “More Settings” tab in WPSP? I have tried meta key and meta value but I don’t think I am entering the correct values. I’m using all-animals for the category.
I just tested and the category only widget and it worked for me.
So in WP Show Posts, you created a new list, selected Category in Taxonomy, then check the All Animals category, then selected the correct list in the widgets, but all categories are showing up?
Leo, So in your reply you have done everything I have done. You created a list by selecting the category All Animals and assign the list to a widget. Up to this point it all works correctly. The posts from the All Animals category are displayed in sidebar widget. The problem is I don’t want this lists of posts displayed in the All Fruits category. How do I make WP Show Posts list only show in a specific category?
