    hi there,

i’m going to try to use wp show posts to set up a portfolio for two artists. i want to make use of post formats (generatepress pro) and want to be able to slice and dice the portfolios different ways to let users show works from each of them, and both of them and then be able to further sort them into image subjects like ‘nature’ or ‘portraits’ and formats like ‘painting’, ‘sculpture’ or ‘digital media’. they even do events, so i was thinking of using categories for their names and then tags for the other things.

is it possible to use different post formats to display info in wp-show-posts? if so, i’m having trouble getting my featured images to show, i’m also wondering if it’s because i use an image post format that is created by a plugin called auto-post-after-image-upload that creates the image post, so maybe that has something to do with it.

further, if i add some custom fields to each post, will i be able to display them? i’m trying to tell the artists what they can and can’t have on a portfolio page. 🙂

i can send you my test site url privately. thank you!

    Hi there,

Post formats won’t have any effect on the lists themselves. What kind of post format related info are you trying to display?

Are you having trouble getting your featured images to show within the lists themselves?

You can absolutely use custom fields within your lists. Here are some examples: https://wpshowposts.com/support/search/get_post_meta/
