Would it be possible to display recent posts in the following way?
post spanning all columns with image to the left
2 posts (together spanning all columns) with image above
3 posts (together spanning all columns) with image above

Sounds like it would be relatively complex. Any examples you can show me so I can see how they’re doing it?

I think what they’re doing there is showing a handful of different lists. So you’d create 3-4 lists with different settings, and then include them on your page. Each list would target a specific category.

Also, is it possible to display a post sort of like the polarois card, but with thee image taking up more space (2/3 instead of half)?
