    Hey Tom,

How about the option on the Post Lists page to duplicate an existing list, thus retaining all settings for a new list?

Or… global settings that could apply to all lists (unless changed individually).

I’m working on a site that’ll eventually have several dozens of lists, and if there’s a quick & easy way to keep the settings for each consistent, that’d be super helpful, especially if all that would need to be adjusted was the taxonomy or terms.

    Thanks!

    Hi Scott,

All defaults are ran through a filter: https://github.com/tomusborne/wp-show-posts/blob/master/inc/defaults.php

This means you can define your own defaults using a function that every new list will use.

The pro version has a slightly different filter you can see in the inc/defaults.php as well.

As for duplicating lists, a plugin like this might be useful: https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/post-duplicator/

Let me know if you need more info 🙂

    Thanks Tom!

This is super helpful. The Post Duplicator does the trick. I use another plugin (Formidable Forms) pretty heavily that has the duplication feature baked in, which is where that idea came from.

I’ll keep the filter in mind as well, though I typically avoid editing plugin files that’ll be overwritten on updates.

    Scott
