ParticipantAfter enabling edge caching, I now see this as the bottleneck for page load from various places around the globe.
/wp-content/plugins/wp-show-posts-pro/fonts/wp-show-posts.ttf?ka575c
Will the next release address this? Not sure why we need to call a local font from the website when we already use System Stack.
Thanks!

ModeratorHi there,

The mentioned font file is for WP Show Post’s social icons. But yeah, I get what you mean.
Tom’s planning to overhaul the plugin and turn it into a block. I believe optimization like this one is a part of it. (usage of SVG so no font file is needed for icon)

ParticipantThanks for the detailed response. If SP gets rolled into GB, I assume SP will be sunsetted? ie. We purchased less than a year ago so wondering how that will work?

Only Tom can tell (if he changes his mind) if SP gets rolled into GB.
Not all users want GB and I believe Tom knows that and will keep the things separated.

We apologize for the delays. We’re supposed to release WPSP 1.2.0 beta last month but GP Premium 2.0 has taken a lot of development time and resources.
It’s the biggest update from all the products Tom develops. It’s Tom’s take on Gutenberg editor as a page builder w/ GenerateBlocks + GeneratePress. I believe WPSP will resume once he’s done with it.
Can’t give any ETAs for that, unfortunately.

ParticipantThanks Elvin. Maybe I misunderstood. I have read a few times that SP may be turned into a block. I automatically, and maybe in error, just assumed this will be a GB block?
Always appreciate your responses and expertise!

It will be turned into a block but it will be separated. (again, unless Tom changes his mind)
Not all WPSP users use GB blocks. Some prefer Kadence while others actually use WPSP shortcodes within their page builder plugins.
Making WPSP a part of GenerateBlocks will mean users will be forced to install GenerateBlocks as well and that’s not optimal for users who only want to use WPSP.

ParticipantThanks as always Elvin. Would love to actually see SP as a block. Can’t wait!
