Is there any way to include a frontend category filter that pulls from an existing registered taxonomy. Specific example, we have a “theatre” custom post type that has a “neighborhood” category. WPSPpro is recognizing the taxonomies just fine to use as the display filter but is there a way to add it as a list/dropdown/etc. on the frontend?

    Many thanks!

    Hi there,

Not without a decent amount of custom coding, currently.

However, a frontend filter is something we’re actively working on at the moment. WP Show Posts Pro is getting a pretty significant update in the early new year 🙂

Gotcha, I was hoping you may have a hook in place for it already with a snippet from some personal work but no prob. Looking forward to the updates! Let me know if you need some testers.

Is this type of filtering available now, and I’m just missing it?

    This isn’t available, yet.

Thanks for the quick response, Tom. This plug-in is great. I’ll definitely make use of the front-end filtering if it’s added.

    Any updates on this feature?

    None at the moment.

We’re working on a full rebuild of this plugin as a block, so regular development of the shortcode has stalled for now.

We will likely tighten up any bugs in the shortcode version and then switch to the block version development 100%.
