ParticipantHI,
I have just purchased the Developer WP Show Posts Pro but I can’t find any way of uploading the images? I found that I can create columns and I can create “boxed” content with images. This was exactly what I needed as I am creating this website http://www.cash4mac.co.uk to showcase the options for the customer just to click and pick one.
But I don’t know how (where) to upload the images? I’ve searched one by one the “Edit List” Posts, Columns, Images, Content, Meta, Styling, Social, More settings…. I can’t find it!
Thank you for your help.

KeymasterHi Patricia,
The images are uploaded inside the actual post using the Featured Image metabox (bottom right when editing/adding your post).
WPSP simply displays your posts and content – everything else is done when adding the post.
Let me know if you need more info π

ParticipantHi Tom,
I really appreciate your help. But, I can’t figure this out.
I would love if you could be more specific? do I have to use sidebar/content/sidebar? do I need to use the shortcode inside Widgets?
I’ve been using Generate Press for a long time now, and I love it. It is really straight forward.I don’t know why I can’t figure out how to use this WPSP, because I really need it. π
Thank you for your help once again.

ParticipantI have just looked at the video again. In the “Post” you’ve got the options of “Post” “Page” “Attachment” “Product”… maybe this version is not the same?
I have only “Page” and “Post”
thank youOctober 26, 2016 at 8:55 am #947Tom
KeymasterOn that page, you’ve added the featured image to the page you’re adding the shortcode to.
Then below it, you have 4 pages displaying using WPSP.
If you want images above each of those 4 pages, then each of those pages need to have featured images – not the page that you’re adding the shortcode to.
WPSP displays posts, pages – any kind of post type. The data it displays (titles, content, images etc..) are attached to the post/page/whatever it is displaying.
So for example, create a few posts in your Dashboard – give them titles, some content and a featured image.
Then create a new list using WPSP and tell it to display posts.
When you add that shortcode for the list you created to a page, you’ll see the data for each individual post that you just created.
Hopefully this makes more sense π

ParticipantHi Tom,
I’ve made it!
Thank you for your help. But, please have a look at the whole email below.I can only choose “Post” to be displayed, so it doesn’t allow me to create “pages” I mean, it doesn’t let me choose “Pages” in the drop down, everything is a mess if I choose Pages. In your video you have more options, Post, Page, Attachment and Product?
After you click on “iMac” from “Sell your Apple Mac” page, it shows all “posts” (all from the list) I only need to show the “iMac”
β
The most important thing I need to know is how do I create another “list” (for example, a whole category only) because if I create a second list, it will grab all “previous posts”. You can see it here: http://cash4mac.co.uk/imac/For instance, [wp_show_posts id=”111″] is: iMac, Apple Laptops, MacPro and MacMini (those are Posts, because I can’t create Pages) it won’t let me.
How do I create another list (with only all iMacs or all MacBook Pro or all Mac Pro) to be shown only when you click on that post “iMac” ? I hope you got what I am trying to explain.
β
βThank you for your help. I really appreciate it. And I’ve got the second row in the “content area” yes, it was just clicking the “kitchen sink” thank you for that. As you can see, I am doing everything with your products, I love Generate Press.Kind Regards,

KeymasterThe dropdown of post types will only show what is available – so in my video I had WooCommerce activated which is what made “product” available.
I believe attachment was removed for now as there was some issues with it.
With a fresh install, the only two post types available should be “post” and “page”.
I wouldn’t typically use the plugin to display pages unless it was a unique use-case. It’s mainly geared towards displaying posts and other custom post types.
You can create a list to display only posts in a category by choosing the “Taxonomy” option – in your case it would be “category”.
Then another field will display below it, where you can choose the “Term” – the name of your category you want to pull posts from.
Let me know if that helps or not π
