    hi there,

… dont know if i have overlooked something or just did not found what i am searching for – but at the moment i just wonder if its possible to show some ‘previous’ and/or ‘next’ area when viewing a single custom post type from loop created with WPSP… ?

not that big deal, but kinda would be nice to have according to customers request 🙂
maybe there is an option thats hiding from me.

    ???

    thanks in advance

The single post template is handled by your theme – WPSP only displays the list of posts and doesn’t have any control over the layout of the actual post itself.

Let me know if that makes sense or not 🙂

makes sense… theme is GP Premium.

asking how to implement in their support forum?? 😉

GP does have next/previous links at the bottom of the posts. For example, check the footer meta for this post: http://demo.generatepress.com/2015/02/25/post-with-featured-image/

    jeah – saw that.
but why does this not show up in my (custom) single posts???

maybe too stupid to find the trick …

    btw:
might change to GP forums for that?

    o.k. thanks so far.

so to just understand right: the decribed ‘issue’ is quite ‘normal’ behaviour and the extension code is necessary to make wp itself behave like we want it for cpt’s. in other words… there is nothing ‘wrong’ so far when there is no post-nav shown for custom post types, although they use the standard wp post- and singlepost-templates. right?

or is there still something that should have been done another way?

That’s correct – by default GP adds the post navigation only to the “post” post type.

The custom function is there specifically to allow people to add it to their own post types as well 🙂
