I am using two short codes on a page, but only one short code displays.

    I want to display:

Short code 1 – to show the most recent post (full content)

Short code 2 – to show all other posts (as excerpts)

I tried using one short code of all posts with the most recent as “featured” but it only allowed me to have all posts as excerpts, or all posts as full content.

Why won’t both short codes display?

    Hi,

I am using two short codes on a page, but only one short code displays.

That’s strange. Multiple lists should work as there’s even a GP theme that does just that here:
    https://gpsites.co/read/

Can you show us the shortcodes you are using?

Also, can you link us to the specific page you’re trying to apply this?

You can send the site details(link, credentials etc) on our contact form here:

After messing around with different settings, I found that the two short codes worked simultaneously when I deselected the Blog Page designation under Settings>Reading. Something in the CSS specific to the blog page conflicted maybe? It is definitely odd. As long as things now work, I’ll move ahead rather than try to troubleshoot. I’m just letting you know for future reference how I worked around the issue.

It seems like you’ve created a static page, placed 2 WPSP list shortcodes and then assign it as the Posts page on Settings>Reading?

If that’s the case then it makes sense why the shortcodes were not working.

Assigning a page as the Posts page on Settings>Reading turns a page into a default blog index page. This means, it will disregard all the contents of the page (including the shortcode) and place a Blog list in it.

I’m just letting you know for future reference how I worked around the issue.

Thank you for sharing. Glad you got it sorted. šŸ˜€
