    I cannot update your plugin WP Show Posts Pro. It says: Update failed: Download failed. Unauthorized. I have tried your suggestion to remove the license key and save, then re-add it and save. But it doesn’t work. What can I do?

    That’s strange, usually that works.

    Just some feedback, I’ve had this too, and re-entering my license didn’t resolve it, so I resorted to removing the plugin and re uploading the latest!

    Thank you so much for answering. I considered to do it the way, you have done Dave, but I was afraid, that then all settings are gone (and I use the key for 3 websites)
    So yes Tom, I would like to have a fresh license key in order to try this first! Otherwise I have to do remove the plugin and re upload the latest version.

    Hi Regina,
    As a rule most plugins can be deactivated, removed and re-installed as settings are not stored in the plugin folder, they are stored in the database or somewhere else.
    Also the latest version of WordPress allows plugins to be installed on top of an older version, you get a confirmatioin before it goes ahead.
    But of course it never hurts to backup before making any changes 🙂
    I sometimes compress a plugin folder to a zip file in my cPanel just to be on the safe side!
