    Hello Tom,

    Thank you very much. I got around to updating WPSP Pro today. It worked out great! Thank you very much.

    Regarding the arrows for carousels. where in WPSP’s settings are they? I could not find them. The carousel currently has arrows, which I imagine are from the code referenced in my last message. The arrows style after updating the plugin did change. Before, it was a dark circle with a transparent arrow. Now, they are dark grey arrows.

    The reason I ask is because the arrows are quite small, and I wanted to increase their size.

    In the following code, would I change the value for right: and left: in the last two sections?

    add_filter( 'wpsp_carousel_args', function( $args ) {
        $args['arrows'] = true;
        $args['dots'] = false;

        return $args;
    } );

    wp-show-posts .slick-next:before,
    .wp-show-posts .slick-prev:before {
        color: black;
    }

    .wp-show-posts .slick-arrow {
        z-index: 500;
    }

    .wp-show-posts .slick-prev {
        left: 0;
    }

    .wp-show-posts .slick-next {
        right: 0;
    }

    Thank you, Tom, and have a good one!

    Hello Tom,

    Thanks for the quick answer and for the information.

    What do I need to do on my end to see the changes? Is there an updated version of WPSP that I need to install?

    I went through the various setting on the posts list for the carousel (from Posts through More Settings), and there is no option to enable arrows?

    The way we did the arrows was with the following php you sent:

    add_filter( 'wpsp_carousel_args', function( $args ) {
        $args['arrows'] = true;
        $args['dots'] = false;

        return $args;
    } );

    wp-show-posts .slick-next:before,
    .wp-show-posts .slick-prev:before {
        color: black;
    }

    .wp-show-posts .slick-arrow {
        z-index: 500;
    }

    .wp-show-posts .slick-prev {
        left: 0;
    }

    .wp-show-posts .slick-next {
        right: 0;
    }

    Thank you, Tom.

    Cheers!

    Hi Tom,

    Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve about 8 hours re-uploading the photos from the Media Gallery. The time it would take to find someone to do it an then implement it, would probably take more time and cost quite a bit.

    Thank!

    Hi Tom,

    I just responded to you on this topic on GP. I certainly hope this is not the case, as it will take days to do given that there are about 2,500 images. It’s for a wedding photography website. Many clients find us by an images search, so having image alt text is a bit important. Now I know why our ranking dropped quite a bit after launching the new site. It would be like having no text on GP’s website, and just photos.

    Thanks, Tom. Have a good one.

    Hi Tom,

    Thanks for the reply.

    Silly me, I just changed the color using the tools in the editor. Duh!!

    I think I found a solution for to filter the content on posts lists generated by WPSP. It’s a plugin called Smart Content Filter by Pixify.

    According to them, “Smart Content Filter (SCF) by default doesn’t allow to filter dynamic content like the post loop. But, it would still be possible to extend that functionality and add filtering to the dynamic loop using a custom JavaScript snippet that maps the post loop identifiers (HTML IDs / classes) with the filter tag names.

    We have done that before for many of our users who wanted SCF to work with dynamic content, and I can certainly assist you with the JavaScript code snippet to extend it. You’re only expected to know the basic element identifiers to map them with the filter tags.”

    Smart Content Filter: https://pixify.net/products/smart-content-filter/

    I’m not sure when you plan on having reworking WPSP to include the filter option, so this might be a good solution for users who want this function and who want to use WPSP.

    Hope this helps.

    Have a good day, Tom.

    Hi Tom,

    Thanks for the update. I’ll stick with WPSP and wait for that feature. In the interim, I just used plain tex in the category editor on each category page and embedded a URL.

    Would you happen to know if there is a way to not have the text with the URL embedded not be blue?

    When that feature is available, would it be something that I can just toggle in WPSP for an already-created posts list whose short code is in a custom php template? It’d be nice to not have to rework those custom php templates.

    Have a good one, Tom.

    Hi Leo,

    Thanks.

    I had a question regarding styling as explained in another support topic to ask, so I’ll start another topic.

    Have a good afternoon.

    Hello Tom,

    That’s the way things go sometimes. WPSP is working out great for our post lists on our custom PHP templates, by the way!

    Thanks for the response and for the plugin suggestion

    * If possible, could you please remove the URLs I put in the first message? The “Edit” option is not available for some reason.

    Have a good day.

    Cheers!

    Hi Tom,

    Thanks for the response.

    That’s too bad. That’s the primary reason I purchased the Pro version. Prior to purchasing it, I had asked in an email if it could do perform those functions, and was told it should be possible in the beta version.

    Do you know of another plugin that can do this by chance? Is there any way to modify the code of WPSP to either pull from the body of the post or from a photos in Media for an each Image Lightbox Gallery?

    Thanks and have a good night.

    Cheers!

    Hi Tom,

    I’ll respond to all your replies on this same subject here and mark the other ones as resolved.

    No worries. I just didn’t know how to do that same thing using GP Pro + WPSP. I was hoping to keep the same hierarchy given that Yoast breadcrumbs is implemented on the current site, and wanted to have it on the new sit too, if possible.

    As a resolution, what do you think about just creating page and creating the same look and front-end functionality with GenerateBlocks to replicate the category page that has the two option on it that are linked to the category pages where the posts are listed?

    Would you happen to know if I could still use Yoast’s breadcrumbs doing it this way?

    Thank you Tom!

    Sincerely,

    Andrés
